Marketplace deals that survive the sold-price test.
Every week we scan new Facebook Marketplace listings across LA and Orange County, then check each finalist against actual eBay sold prices — not asking prices, not vibes. You get the handful of real deals, the traps flagged before you waste a drive, and the full watch list. Two minutes of reading replaces an afternoon of scrolling.
The sample issue below is real — scanned and verified Oct 20, 2026. The first full issue goes out Tuesday, Oct 27, 2026 to founding members.

01
How every deal earns its place
Asking prices never make this list. A listing only gets in after it clears all three steps — and the ones that fail become the most valuable part of the issue.
STEP 1
Scan
New LA/OC Marketplace listings in resale-friendly categories — LED grow lights, tools, extension cords, external drives, projectors, men's designer clothing — within driving distance of Norwalk.
STEP 2
Verify against sold
Each finalist is comped against recent eBay sold listings — the typical sale price and the range — so the spread you see is grounded in what buyers actually paid.
STEP 3
Flag the traps
Listings priced at or above resale value, replicas, and "$1" message-for-price hooks get named in print, so you don't burn gas and an afternoon finding out the hard way.
Honest math: spreads in the digest are gross — before eBay fees (about 13%), shipping and packaging, and your pickup time and gas. Local pickup and testing before you pay are assumed. A deal only counts if a margin survives all of that, and the digest says so when one doesn't.

From the sample issue — Oct 20, 2026
This is the actual free sample issue — created Oct 20, 2026 and posted to the Flippin Hippos Reseller Pod on Oct 22. Listings move fast and some will be gone by now — which is exactly why the full digest ships weekly.
Gavita Pro 1700e + 3× Skylight XL-660W LED grow lights (lot)
Los Angeles · ~1 mi from Norwalk · Used / working
Top deal
Marketplace ask$150
eBay sold — Gavita alone~$300
The spreadAsk is about half the Gavita-only value — the 3 Skylights are extra
Seller said "need gone ASAP." Three recent eBay sold comps for the Gavita alone ran $299–$300 — before counting the three Skylight fixtures in the lot.
There may be margin here, but the evidence is too thin to call it verified — one new unit sold for $212.99. The digest labels these honestly instead of dressing them up as deals.
These looked interesting at the asking price. The sold listings said otherwise.
Hard pass
Spectre Phaser X660 Pro — Cerritos
ask $360 · sold $70
Only two eBay sales were ever found for this light, and both were $70. The ask is about 5× the sold evidence.
Overpriced
Spider Farmer "2x4" board (new) — Norwalk
ask $75 · sold ~$40
Comparable SF1000 boards sell used on eBay at a typical ~$40 (12 comps, $20.50–$50.99). You'd be paying above resale to buy it.
No margin
3-light bundle: SE1500 + HLG 100 + HLG 100R — Los Angeles
ask $200 · sold ≈ resale value
HLG 100 units sell for a typical ~$70 each (7 comps, $60–$100), so the bundle prices out at roughly its own resale value.

Also from that week's scan: "Amiri" designer shirts at $35–$40 are almost certainly replicas — reselling replicas risks your eBay account at any spread. A "$1" listing price is a hook, not a deal. And there was no arbitrage that week in external hard drives or commodity extension cords; they were priced at or above eBay sold value.

It's comped against recent eBay sold listings — what buyers actually paid, including the typical price and the range. If the comp data is thin, the digest says so and labels it a "maybe" instead of a deal.
What areas and categories does it cover?
Los Angeles and Orange County, centered on Norwalk and roughly a 25-mile radius. Categories follow what actually resells: LED grow lights, tools, extension cords, external drives, projectors, and men's designer clothing — expanding as the scans find new pockets of margin.
When do issues come out?
Weekly, on Tuesdays, by email. Premium Alerts members also get a same-day email whenever a standout deal surfaces mid-week.
Do you buy or hold items for me?
No. The digest is information only — verified leads, sold-price evidence, and trap warnings. You contact the seller, inspect in person, and pay the seller directly, same as any Marketplace buy.
Can I cancel?
Anytime, with a reply to any issue email. No contracts, no retention flow, no hard feelings — the next issue has to earn its keep.
